Jamaica Frontiers: A Dendro Dream Team

Updated: Aug 10, 2019

Day 3: The maiden voyage of Busi the tree corer (short for Busera simaruba) went off with a bang! Our team headed to the woods in Clarendon to collect our first tree cores. It was a very productive day with a total of 32 tree cores. Busi worked like a dream. Special thanks to our Dendrochronologist, Dr Adam Csank for his help and expert knowledge in the field. Barring a few minor scratches and a couple ant bites, the day concluded without event and a cold Red Stripe on the beach. Next step: mount and prepare the cores.
